Hold On My Soul: Artist Ashieka Daniels

The solo art exhibition, “Hold On My Soul”, presented by King Daniels Art on Friday, April 15, 2016, at the Tye Johnson Artistry Studio - Zhou B Art Center, 1029 West 35th Street, Chicago, Illinois, was an overwhelming success. Hundreds of people from all walks of life experienced an inspirational, thought provoking and spirit filled event presented by the talented and gifted artist Ashieka Daniels.
Ashieka showcased her God given gifts, professional training and creative talent to capture the spirit and essence of the slavery experience encountered by our ancestors in the United States. Through her artistic displays via canvass, photography, sculptures and readings of original literary works, she placed the hearts and souls of our people, Black people, on display. Each artistic expression by the artist portrayed the feelings, emotions, pain and suffering our people experienced during one of the darkest periods in our nation’s history. She allowed us to travel back in time to connect with our ancestors’ experience to help us better understand what we are experiencing as a people in the twenty-first century.
I was impressed with Ashieka Daniels’ creative genius, passionate oratorical skills and ability to capture American history through the use of the canvass, photography and literary works in the “Hold On My Soul” art exhibition. The gifted and talented Ashieka Daniels has a humble demeanor, beautiful spirit, sincere love for the arts and is “A Beautiful Rising Star” whose gifts and talents have been placed on display by God! Her works are worthy of national and international recognition, don’t miss her next exhibition! www.kingdanielsart.com
