Ashieka Daniels is a business owner, abstract and mixed media painter, installation artist and literary writer. Her work has evolved as she works in various styles and mediums, at times allowing her art pieces to invoke tranquility and in the words of Daniels, "a quieting of the mind". At other times she uses collage and literary writing to assist in shining light on her ancestors and the indigenous people of this land. She expresses her creative gift through thought provoking works of art that stir the emotions of the viewer.

 

Daniels states that, “Ever since I was a little girl I loved to work with my hands and use my imagination to create. I carry that same innocence, joy and love in every creation of art, in what I consider play time. Every color has purpose and every piece of material has meaning. I enjoy the journey that I take with each piece of artwork from concept to completion. When people view my art, it is my desire that it will engage them and awaken something within their spirit that causes them to pause and reflect. Ultimately, it is my desire for the observer to become one with the art they observe.”
